Sigi has been singing since she was a little girl, and her dream was to become a professional singer one day. Throughout the years, she has experimented with many different musical styles, including; folk, country, blues, jazz, rock, gospel, and even classical “bel canto” style (a graduate of the University of Idaho in Vocal Music Education, 2001). Her style remains an eclectic blend of several of those genres, and some describe her music as “Faith style Americana”. During her college years, she was the lead singer of the Cross-Eyed Catfish, a blues band that played both large and small venues. It was during this time that she learned to play the guitar. She has been a member of two different worship bands, and now continues to play gigs in the Northwest and West coast areas and seeks to expand her reach throughout America.
Her first CD, titled “New Shoes”, bears her honorable efforts as a beginning song writer. Her songs come from personal experience along this journey called life. Perhaps that is why people relate so well to her music; the words are authentic and real, while the music goes beyond the typical Christian pop sound. This is why her music is appreciated by both Christian and secular audiences.
Sigi’s philosophy on “performing” is that it is not all about her. She seeks to help others along the way while pointing people to God, who is the real healer and provider of all our needs. Her avenue for doing this is through her songs and her rapport with her audiences. She knows there is a need for people to experience more than beautiful music. They need to connect to the music, to her as a person, and ultimately, to God.
She is currently working on new song material for future release.
